I`m planning to paint my engine, for the cylinder and top cover I have understand I need to use paint who can handle +600 Celsius.
What about the rest of the engine, it is not so hot, can I use normal 2k primer and paint ?? or must I use a paint for +200 Celsius?
I think 2k primer and paint will hold better then the paint for high temperature, but if it cannot handle the temperature is it no point...

I primed my entire engine with PPG DP primer then painted it gloss black with catalyzed acrylic enamel (PPG). It has held up for over 10 years with only a slight discolor around the exhaust ports. Not noticeable unless you look really close. Had to clean it really good before priming. It had lots of corrosion.
