anyone know which side covers will fit this bike (because, of course, the part is discontinued)
color is not an issue, as it will be repainted, just fit.

Looks like you might be stroked buddy, unless you want to alter a GPZ cover. I cross referenced an 83 KZ 1100 L1 LTD-SHAFT and there are no other model years that you can swap with. Also, the 81-82 GPZ 1100 side covers swap, but not with your 83.

Cary: Chris is correct...there is no 'drop-in' replacement for your bike's side cover. You will either have to fabricate something, or be patient and watch eBay...your part WILL show up...eBay is like the Holy Grail of Z parts...you can find anything, eventually. I would suggest you exercise patience and go the eBay route...you might fab something now but eventually you'll buy the side cover. You are one of those lucky people who have a one-off bike...Kawasaki was famous for that (for ex. I have a 1982 GPz750 and it doesn't share anything with all later GPz's).

Can you clarify "anything" regarding your '82 having different parts? Is this true of engine, carbs, suspension, all of it?

Chet:
If you are referring to the '82 GPz750, then the big change occurred between 1982 and 1983 in the GPz series. In 1982, GPz's were part of the KZ family and by 1983, GPz's were all in the ZX family... changes were massive: monoshock, new bodywork, revamped engine, new chassis, wheels, forks...one might be able to swap carbs, but that would be about it.
