LTD Bars?

I have a G1 classic and I think this model should have the LTD type bars, but mine look like regular bars.
I checked the distance from the mounting bolts to the bend (straight up), and it is only 5-6 inches. The LTD bars in all the pictures I have seen look like they come up higher.
Thanks in advance.

Can someone out there with a 1980 LTD give me a quick measurement of the handlebar rise?
Dale
Yeah, too damn high. I ditched those goofy antler bars before I even got the bike running...

I still have my LTD bars. Just sitting in a box, waiting for somebody like you to take ownership

The handlebar configuration on the 1980 G is different than the 1976-80 1000B (LTD) models. The handlebars on the 1980 G model more closely resemble the 1981-3 K and M models (LTD and CSR)(= higher rise and sharper pull-back). If you opt for the flatter earlier model LTD style bars, you may have to go with shorter cables.

Hold on, I just re-read the original question from IowaKZ, then checked my bars again. They have just under 9" of rise. I thought they looked sort of dorky... Right now though, I plan to leave them on. The cables would be an issue, and I don't think my front brake lever would switch over either; it has about a 20 degree downward cant to match the sharp pull-back angle of the highrise bars. For now I will stick with the style of the era. It reminds me of the high rise "banana bikes" that we rode as little kids. I did remove the tall sissy bar that came on the KZ however. Anybody want it?

Mcdroid, thanks for setting me straight on the years, and Nevco48 Thanks for the pics.
I think that someone changed the bars on mine because they are not the high rise. Also, the brake line is kind of bunched up by the head light.
I am trying to rebuild it to all original so now I need to add something else to the list.
I will try and post a picture of mine if I can figure out how.
