I got my foam at an upholstery shop. I used 3 inch dark grey foam...I think the color is a density indicator, at least in the catalog he used. It's very high density foam, and is really comfortable. The shop had samples of all the different densities He uses, and I put them on a wooden stool he had there. The upholsterer really thought I picked too dense a foam, but it wasn't. With a thin cushion like yours, you'll be glad you did.
