front axle moved was created by BSKZ650
I know I just saw this a while back, but could not find it in the search,
on the kz1000, the front axle threaded itself to the left, I did have the front wheel off to change the tire, thought I followed the book on the reinstall, but must have done something wrong.
What was the fix or the correct thing to do so this dosent happen again??
Thanks

Did you tighten both axle nuts (Nuts on the ends of the axle) to 51-65 ft.-lb. first, then tighten the front axle clamp nuts and then the rears to 11-16 ft.-lb.? (Specs are for the 650, not sure about the 1000's torques).
Tightening the axle nuts should keep the axle from moving sideways.

I did tighten the axle nuts, dont remember how tight though, and the clamps, you thighten the front one first then the back, there is a gap left at the back of the clamp, which is supposed to be there
