New handlebars, FRUSTRATING problems! was created by markmeinteil
I hated the tall ugly 'ape-hanger' handle bars on my '81 KZ750 LTD, so I bought the 'euro' or 'superbike' handle bars that are more straight across like the late 70's KZ900 bikes had. Of course nothing fits right. The front brake master cylinder has an angled reservoir to work with the old slanted bars, but of course it looks really crooked when mounted on the new bars.
Next problem is that the clutch and accelerator cables, and brake hose are way too long to work.
So does anyone know of a common or easy solution for this? Is there a certain KZ model I can take the old parts off and make to work on my bike? If you want pics on the accessories on the new bars, I can post some up. Any help at all would be great! I don't want to go back to the old bars again.

Get measurements of how long you need the cables and hoses to be and I'll check with my buddy who is the parts guy at a local shop and see if I can get part numbers for readily available aftermarket stuff for you. I put braided brake lines on to shorten them after switching from stock high bars on my 77 650 and he found me throttle and clutch cables that fit the length I needed.
