Wheel changes, help was created by rgpbeme
Hi I have a 79 1000 ltd and a 79 1000 mk2.
The ltd is a project but had brand new tires on it. It has the 16" reat wheel
I thought I would put its wheels and tires on the MK2. The front ltd wheel is a little wider but it fit ok
The rear tire is also wider on the ltd. but not much about 1/2"
I measured the inside of both swing arms and they are the same. When got done the ltd wheel on the MK2 sits off center a little and I can't even think about putting the chain gaurd on.
I put the spacers back like they were. One spacer is straight and the other has a flat end on it that has a larger O.D than the spacer. Can they be reversed? Has anyone done this swap before? The ltd had one spacer that was about 1/8 inch shorter than the MK
