I've seen the hydraulic slave cylinder, but being a tightwad and a do-it-yourselfer, I'm quite happy with the results of my free modification.
I like the ball bearing idea too, yet another improvement.

Nelson wouldn't that extra length make for a longer pull at the handle.I find mine too long already.

yes, the hand lever has a slightly longer range of travel now, but not much. I like it, it gives improved feel.
I also like to run the cable a bit loose, so as you pull in, the disengagement begins a little closer to the grip. This means my hand has more leverage because the lever is closer. My fingers are a little short, so this helps. This is just personal preference.

I was looking for a way to take up way too much slack in the cable and dropped a ball bearing into the recess for the clutch pushrod to fit into. It took up the extra slack and I also found it made the clutch pull a bit easier and very smooth.
I had misread the mods here (I read it quickly at work) and thought it was the same as lengthening the pushrod or the "pusher", so sorry, different mod.
Lenthening the actuating arms on the Triumph/BSA conical front drum brakes did increase stopping power, so it would seem that lengthening the actuating arm would exert more force making it easier to pull and more efficient.
Sounds like a good mod, I'm going to try this myself with a spare arm I have.

Mark, the ball bearing goes in the hole in the center of the actuator thing (shown in my picture). It reduces friction against the end of the rod (which may be rotating while running). You will have to back out the adjuster the same thickness as the bearing. Nice idea Fossil!
