Widest wheel w/ GPz750 turbo swingarm was created by maj75
Subject says it all.
I have a 1982 GPz750. I want to put a stronger swingarm that will accomodate a wider wheel and tire on the rear. I do not want a swingarm that is over length (ie GS1100, ZRX1100). It seems that this is an issue with monoshock swingarms in general.
Is it true that a swingarm from a turbo GPz750 should drop into the frame and is the same length? I will add lower shock mounts to this set-up.
How wide a 17" wheel/tire can you fit into that swingarm?

My 1st GPzTurbo had a 150 tire on it when I got it... was OK clearing the swingarm but needed to be on a wider wheel. A friend of mine has an extra Turbo swingarm if you are looking for one.....

how to put a wider wheel/tire in a 750 turbo swingarm
looks like a 180 on 5.5 inch rim will be fairly easy

There's lots of 750 turbos on my site with 5" rims and 180 tyres in the stock arm. I'm 99% sure the turbo arm will fit in your 82 GPz, I put a GPz750 arm in my Z1000 20+ years ago and that was fine.
