kz1000p front end on my kz650 was created by timber
well i gathered up all the parts needed. and last night after work i switched out my kz650 front end for a kz1000p front end. so now i have a 2.15x18" 120mm front wheel and a 2.15x18" 130mm rear wheel. it looks alot different! it handles alot different. it feels heavy and stuck to the road but easy to push around and make it do what i need and want.

i know you want some pixs. gonna have to wait till day time cuz i can seem to get a good pix at night.

Man that looks great! I have been wanting to do something similar with my 750. What all parts did you have to get to do the conversion? Did the 130 rear fit in with the stock swingarm or do you have a modded swingarm? Looks like I need to start looking for some 1000p forks!

i used the 83 kz1000p 39mm fork set up. there are a couple different sizes so watch out what year you are buying so you arent mixing and matching different size trees and tubes. i needed to get the p trees down to the rim. the calipers are kz650 and the rotors are kz650 cuz the ones that came on the rim where bigger. i got the trees for $35 and the forks for $50 from ebay. the rim i had the most in at $65 again from ebay. i just watched and got lucky with those prices.

as far as the 130mm rear tire it fit fine. the only thing i had happen was when i put it on i didnt see that it was hitting the rear brake stay arm bolt. i put a nice little groove in it. when i saw what i did i pulled the tire back and switched that bolt around so the head was facing the tire and the threads where pointing out. other than that i fit fine on the rim and swingarm. you can go any bigger though cuz it is real close when you have the tire all the way foward in the swingarm.

Just for info, the KZ650 SR used a 19x2.15 front wheel that is a bolt on for the 77-78 KZ1000 (maybe others but I don't know).
Unfortunately it's a tube type mag wheel :(

i never had any luck with these tubeless mag rims so i put tubes in all my mags. part of it was for looks. i wanted the front and rear to have the same size rim & tire. i wanted that chucky look. it is called brat style over in japan.

yes i am looking for a fender so if you see one please let me know, thanks
