Speedo Question (the guage, not the swimwear...) was created by andoman
Sometimes I go fast... I've yet to be stung by the Man, but, my answer to the, "Son, do you know how fast you were going?" question will be: "Why yes, Officer, EXACTLY 85 miles per hour...
I have two quetions for the Forum:
1. Does it hurt the speedo to be constantly wound up tight against the pin at the 85mph marker?
2. If a way was found into the unit, could the pin just be ripped out and would the needle then happily wind its way around the dial? Without damage? (OK that was 3 questions...).

I never had a problem keeping it pegged on my 80 KZ1000. I used to judge the rest of the speed by how far back me eye sockets were stretched back.:woohoo:

There is no direct mechanical connection between the needle and the cable, the cable spins a magnet which then pulls the needle along.
Nope, it won't hurt it to keep it pegged
Might hurt your wallet though
