Frame Comparison 750/1100 was created by GPz750KS
Hey all, I need a bit of help. I'm tryng to get some information on the frame differences between my '82 GPz750 (KZ750R1) and an '82 GPz1100.

The description I have doesn't help.
The 750 frame is described as, "Double Down Tube".
The 1100 is described as, "Double Loop Cradle"

Since I dont have an '82 1100, I need some help comparing them. I found an aftermarket lower chin fairing that fits the 1100. Just wondering if the downtube width, length and construction is comparible to make it close enough to possibly fit.

Thanks, in advance.
Richard Z.

Richard:

I have both. I have a few errands to run this morning and I can take some measurements for you later today...but I need you to be precise on what and where you need them.

Im not sure exactly where the measurements need to be taken. This what I am looking at on Ebay. Here is the link. cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Kawasaki-ELR-KZ-...mZ160013381335QQrdZ1

I can build the framework for this. i was just wondering if it would look like an albatros on the bike.

Thanks,
Richard

Richard:

The distance across the front of the frame at the level where the motor attaches to the frame (triangular mounts) is approximately 310-15 mm on the 750, it is about 320 mm on the 1100. At the bottom of the frame on the 750 it is about 315-20 mm or so and about 320 mm on the 1100. Suffice to say, the front frame dimensions, although not identical, are very similar. The motor width on the 1100 is greater but the bikes are pretty similar. The fundamental visual difference between the two is the presence of a frame cross member on the 1100 (on the front of the bike between the down tubes, below the exhausts) and none on the 750. Hope this helps.

Thank you for doing that for me. It seems that this is possible without a huge issue. Thanks Again for measuring for me. Sound like if it will fit aroung the 1100 it will definately fit the 750.

Thanks,
Richard
