Restoring a couple Z2's early and late. While essentially both are just a Z1/KZ900 with subtle Domestic market changes, looking for info on the early fork reflector color. Did the Japanese market share the Silver screw-in Euro type or the Amber ones used in the States? And if used the Silver ones does anyone know that part number? Gent sent the forks but didn't include the reflectors. Thanks a Bunch, Clay

Nevermind on the part numbers, found them. Chrome 44062-005 Amber 28012-009. So just correct application.

According to John Brookes (Kawasaki Z1 & Z2 parts book, 5th ed. 2017) the Z2 and US Z1 market shared the amber reflector while the metal reflector was restricted to the Z1 European market.

Kinda thinking that too Mike. Seems every pic i can find reflects this, Amber on Front. Unique though, used the Ambers on the Rear shocks too, not red like the States. Seems rumors say these were also imported to South Africa too. Hopefully Your controls will arrive today!!

Yeah...the 1979 Z750-D1 was exported to South Africa. Used to correspond with a South African fellow who owned a Z750-D1 but the politics drove him back to Denmark...not sure what happened to his bike. Also knew a fellow in Midland, TX who also owned a South African Z750-D1...but have lost track of him. He needed rings for the motorcycle so it was non-operational at that time..

Absolutely correct my Jim Friend, AKA Rebel and sidekick Wife. But maybe it's she's the rebel and You just do as you're told, ha. I'd just bought some "early" Amber reflex, reflectors. Yes there is a difference although outwardly look the same. Not noticeable from afar but Stanley utilized different raised fonts between the years. I suppose if one could read braille ya could tell the difference.
