The one I pictured is a stock 1979 MKII. The grey one you posted appears to have Z1R side panels(?) But with a MKII style tank and tail section. Or is it an ST? (which uses same style as the MKII I wasn't able to tell. I do know that the fork-headlamp ears are interchangeable amongst several KZs with 36mm fork tubes which leads to many "Bitsa-bikes" Put together with a bit of this model and a bit of that model..Bob that is really interesting, the red bike I posted appears to be as you show but the grey one is through the headlamp mounts and the OP says there is no facility in the ears he has ?????? Maybe different model years or markets ?

There are ears that cover the fork tubes and have either one connection point for both headlight and signal or had 2 connection points one for the headlight and a second one for the signals
Then there were ears that did not cover the fork tubes, rather they connect to the triple trees and were more wire like with ears that again had one connection point for the headlight, some of these had the signals attached to handlebars, and some 2 connection points, one for the headlight and one for the signals.
