I am looking for some help finding a good replacement rear master cylinder for my KZ650. I cleaned and reassembled the old one, which lasted a year but is now seeping. The bore must have too much corrosion, and I can’t find anyone to re-sleeve in my area. Has anyone found a good replacement rear master for these bikes? I’m surprised there is no aftermarket OEM match like Z1 has for the front.

I do not have answer for you on a replacement unit. My memory is not what it once was, but I think I recall Alex (injected) installing one from a newer model but it may be from another forum that I am recalling?
As an aside, your machine appears to have yet another chrome swing are and brake arm which a recent topic was about.

From the bold spacing the 94-97 ZX9-R MC should fit (you need the special mounting bolts also).
I had to fab a adapter plate (rear drum break model) and use a clear tube as a break fluid reservoir.

On my 650 I am using a Vulcan 1600 rear master. You need to make sure the casting is marked 14MM. It fits the stock frame tab C-C for the bolts, even takes the same bolts.
The cup is separate so you can move it anywhere you need to, it fits under the side cover with no issues. I ended up moving the cup bracket behind the tab, the bracket is 1/16" 6061.
If your buying a used Kawasaki master off Ebay make sure its "wet", sometimes you don't even need to rebuild them. At least with 2000's Kawasaki you can still seal kits.
The only issue with this is it does not look stock to people that know what there looking at. The side cover goes down to the top mount bolt so you can see everything below that. If your bike is completely stock or a restoration this might not work for you.

Do you have any pictures of how you made the push rod work? I got a new master and it has a 1/4” threaded push rod, which I need to somehow adapt onto the old larger thread rod size. Thanks!

A 1/4” threaded push rod is unusual on a Japanes MC as push rod, it should be a M8 threaded push rod like the 1/2" Nissen MC.
You can couple the stock push rod end via a M8 threaded socket onto the Nissen push rod.

I don't have any better pics but in the one I posted you can see a solid 6061 rod where the M8 stud is threaded in, its just a extension to push on. Pretty easy to pull off as you found out either with a machined piece or fasteners.
