Finally Fixed My Droppy Seat

Anyone else have a seat prop that refuses to hold the seat up when the bike is parked on the side-stand?
The seat has never stayed up unless a hand holds it there...





It's a split second woosh from up to full down, and latched!




 

The side stand bike lean angle is not the right position for the seat up self lock. The bike service position is only on the main stand!

So my 40+ year old problem is the norm...not an exception.
Well, then my most-simple solution works better for both positions!







I removed the center-stand for daily riding, and keep it handy for the occasional oil/oil filter and fork fluid change, and wheel removal for tires, etc. 
Takes two-three minutes tops to partly bolt it on, and up she goes.

Rides are nicer without the awkward-heavy, extra weight that wants to scrape the pothole-ridden pavement.  Much better without it...
