KZ750 Spectre Air shock swap? was created by kz750spectre
Greetings all,
My 1982 KZ750 has air shocks in the rear that seem to be blown. I know some other versions of the KZ750 have normal spring type shocks, can I just swap them on? If so does anyone know where I could buy some, or have a cross referenced part number? I can look up the factory part number in the service manual if you need.
Thanks a bunch

Member ghostdive reported using KZ900 shocks on a 750 shaft with great success, though they are a touch longer than the air shocks. If the air shocks are the same length as the other 750 models, Progressive should be able to solve your problem.

Thank you very much. I wonder if ghostdive had to modify those shocks for proper fitment? Is there a link to that post?

As I recall, it was just a response to another post without any further information.

Bump
I've seen some kz750 spectre models with traditional shocks, anyone know about this?

Your bike doesn't NEED air shocks. As long as the shocks installed are the correct length, and have the proper amount of travel, you should be good.
There are many different shock manufacturers to consider. Hagon, Ikon, YS, Progressive, and no doubt, others.
