will 750 Rear Wheel fit 1000? was created by Nelson
Hi all:

I'm lookin at a 81 KZ750 Rear wheel. 18" mag with disk and sprocket. Looks like it should fit my 78 KZ1000A, but hard to say for sure. Anyone know??

thanks!

If you rest your cursor on the "KZ Information tab at the top and look on the left you will see the "Filebase", click on it and look around page 4 for the Kawasaki wheel bearings list, that will tell you what wheel bearing fit your bike and what other models use the same ones.

I can tell you it's not a direct swap, they use different size bearings, which means the axles are different diameters.

78 KZ1000A and 76-80 KZ750 twins have the same axle size front and rear, KZ650 has the same front axle diameter.

Great info, thanks!
Do you think bearings are the only difference? That's easy. Is rotor the same size? Hub the same width? etc?

Maybe I should just keep looking, but this one's pretty tempting.
thanks!

The KZ750 axle has a smaller diameter than the KZ1000.
I know that some people have just bolted it in, but I'm not a big fan of using a smaller axle in a larger hole, but you could get a couple of spacers made that would slide over the axle on each side. Be sure and get the cush hub and spacers if you do that.
I don't know about the rotor diameter.
