Oops...That broke it! Front Wheel problem

Pulled off on my Z650 yesterday to find my girlfriend had been helpful and chained the front wheel for me....just to be on the safe side. Clunk clunk bang bang later. And I've got a mangled hub and broken mudguard arm/fork. Spokes look ok but the wheels a little squeeky.

My question is...what damage has it likely done? Whats beneath the hub and has it probably been damaged?

Can it be easliy repaired? The hub and mudguard arm or can I ake the arms off and just leave the mudguard. Do you guys across in the States call it a mudguard or refer to it as a fender?

I think fender or mudguard either one works for MOST people.
From the looks of it.. I would take the wheel off, remove the hub cover, and look inside. It really doesn't look too bad. All that should be in there is your bearings PRESSED inside. The cover should just stop rain and mud from getting to it ( if I remember correct ).
Check on eBay or on here for a new/used cover if you can't straighten it. And I agree with fixing that mudgaurd ASAP !!!

I'd say fender! I wouldnt chance running with that fender without the arms. If the bottom of the fender should flex into the wheel some nasty things could happen fast. There is aome stuff here in the states called Allumalloy with which you could build another boss and drill and tap to reattach the arm. It would be a long way to go. I'd say get a shorter (stiffer) fender made to run without arms or get another fork leg. You could cut that fender down just make sure you cannot flex it into the tire! Yer back on the road before you can say "Bobs you're uncle!". Did I do that right?

if you take off that cover, the wheel looks the same as the other side... a place to mount another brake disc
