Does anyone know if the upper tree from a 82 GPz 750 will fit an 84?

There is a discussion in the archives where it is stated that the 82 GPz750 has a fork tube diameter of 36mm.
The 83-85 GPz750 is 37 mm, so at a minimum you would have to bore out the holes for the fork tubes.
I "think" the forks are wider on the 83-85 GPz750 also, but I'm not sure.
You trying to use conventional handlebars?
