GPZ handlebar options?? was created by Terez
What are my options for changing bars on my 82 GPZ750??
Can I simply use a top triple clamp from a L3 or L4 750 and then use whatever bar I like?
It appears from a casual look that the gauges mount the same and the ignition key switch is in the same place.
Are the forks the same diameter...they look it?
Has anyone done this?
I recall using aftermarket lower clip on brackets on my 84 GPZ back in the day.....the parts guy gave me that 1000 yd stare when I posed it to him now!LOL
I am hoping the L3/L4 triple clamp idea will work out, lot's of flexibility with bar options that way.
Those freakin clip ons were an answer to a question never asked!!

Thinking outside the proverbial box...I like that. The R1 and L3 models are pretty much the same scooter and the lower triple trees and fork uppers are also the same. So, swapping out the upper triple should give you the desired effect. Although I have not done what you intend, it looks like much of the hardware from the '82 can be reused. However, it also looks like you might lose the plastic dash cover, but one from an L3 should replace it. If you do this, I'd like to see photos.
