Non-brand-name "China" wheel bearings OK? was created by Duck
I had a crunchy one but it could have been screwed up when installed. They are much less expensive than SKF, NKN, FAG, etc.

The bearings in my rear wheel are from China, they were sealed both sides, but actually had very little grease in them. I packed them myself before re-installing the seals. So far so good, 2,000 miles on them and nary a squeek.
