Skip, what I meant was that in order to use heat shink, you will have to loose one end of the cable in order to slide the heat shrink over the wires. The end with the connectors would mean you would have to pull the wires from the connectors and I prefer NOT to do that; I usually just put new connectors on if it is at this point. The OTHER end inside the switch gear would probably be easier as the wires connect via screws I think. Once you had the wires off you could use the heat shrink. I think if you slit the heat shrink to put it on without removing wire ends, it wouldn't work too well nor look very good. The links posted by KZRage had some interesting stuff. The heat shrink you use to just protect wires doesn't look all that great (dull charcoal) and also will show every bump in the cabling.
