1980 KZ250 LTD rear tire size was created by clutch
Hey all,
I just bought a 1980 KZ250 LTD and have a small issue with the rear tire. Whomever purchased the tire for the bike, got the incorrect size. While being a nice, new tire, the chain rubs the sidewall a bit and there is no room to attach the chain guard. I've searched many places online to try to find the proper size, but had no luck. Any KZ250 owners out there have the answer for me?
Thanks,
Clutch

I'm guessing a 110 or 120 would fit. . . What size is on there now?

Heh, too bad I didn't see this earlier. Just got back from having new tires put on my 650, and an older guy pulled up with your bike - Same year and model. Could've checked for you, had I known.

321,000 miles on KZ's that I can remember. Not going to see any more.

To answer the question it used 4.60-16 tire. Not common. You'll probably use a 120/90-16

If I'm not mistaken, it has a 120 on it now. I could be wrong though, so I will double check next time I go out to the garage. Whatever size is on their is preventing the chain guard from even being placed into where it goes...won't fit. If it is the 120, to me it seems the 110 might still not leave enough clearance, though again...I will have to double check what size the current tire is.
Thanks for the replies,
