Jody, Put your bike year/model and possibly your location in your signature (edit profile). It would make advice a little easier. I would look for some shorter fork tubes from a different model as you can usually find them on eBay cheap. Get the springs with them and you are in business.

For strictly drag racing slap on a KZ400 front end. Lighter, lower and has an 18" front wheel. Get a 900-1000 steering stem and weld into 400 triple tree after grinding off 400 stem.
