Changing front fender... was created by savedrider
Is it possible to change the front fender without dropping the front wheel? I know I've taken the fender off before after having the wheel off, but was just wondering if it can be done without pulling the wheel?

I'm not at home to take a look right now, but if my memory serves me correct there is not enough room to get a wrench on the bolts with the wheel in place.

Thanks

Not completely sure, but I think I took it off with the wheel in place, but ended up taking the wheel off because it such a PITA, I figure the ratio of tire removal time : stress reduction was worth it. :P

Yes, you can remove the front fender without removing the front wheel.

It can be done on the 650 with not too much trouble. The wheel is in the way somewhat, and you need to use an open end wrench. I'm not sure of the 900 though as I've never worked on one.

Thanks for the help! I got my new fender on today without removing the wheel. The hardest part was getting the rear bolts started when bolting it back on.

Thanks again for the responses.
