Has anyone put 79 KZ650SR rotors on a 78 KZ650C2 as a upgrade ? Im looking at getting a set of front and a rear drilled rotors for my 78 650C2 and was wondering if they will fit with the stock calipers ? If anyone knows please let me know... Thanks Wayne

The front rotors should be no problem, but the rear may be a different spec as the caliper is different.
You could always drill yours if they still have some life in them. I had mine done years ago as I found my brakes su*#ed in the rain.

I may have a set from my '79 C3 (factory drilled) in my workshop. I know the rear is just about toast, worn to the minimum specs because of the Sintered Pads. I could check to see if I have the front 2 if your interested? I may have sold them, but I somewhat remember seeing them not long ago.

I put SR rotors on my 78 B1 and had trouble. I had to change the fork tubes as welll as the rotors were larger and the calipers wouldn't mate up properly. We originally thought they were the same size - but found out during the install they weren't.

The fronts bolt right on and work great. The rear will not work because the rotor is thicker than the C models. The SR uses a different rear caliper.
I did this conversion about 15 years ago on my 78 KZ650C1.
