The 520 is nearly identical in strength when new, but that's not the same as after many miles.... The 520 are run on the race bikes because they need shave off every pound they can... and it does make a difference that they change out chains and sprockets after or during a lot of races. They get almost no miles compared to a chain on a regularly used streetbike.
