Will Electronic Ignition Help Solve My Problem?

One other thing I noticed, I have a ticking noise that sounds more like a spark leak than valve train. I put bike in the shed and turned out the light to look for a spark, and saw none. I removed the point cover and even saw no spark at the points when running. I assume that is good?
Thinking of installing a Dyna S electronic ignition. Any thoughts?

I'd almost bet that the WG relay mod would solve your starting problem.
OK, so what's that?

BTW, I just bought a '83 Spectre 1100. Waiting for the seller to come up with the title before I pick it up. Looks like I'm going to part it out though. i just don't need another project.

With a meter you can also check the voltage at the coils. The WG coil mod is worth doing even if you only gain a half a volt.
Good luck.
