440 rectifier work in a 550?

I have a 1980 kz550 with a blown rectifier with 2 yellow wires 1 brown 1 black 1 white/red,not a popular unit, not used after 80, I found one from a 440 with the same wires. I dont have the part numbers but has anyone used a LTD440 unit in a 550 before?

They probably are the same just with different wire connectors.

I don't know of anyone who did the swap, though.

Well I got one an wired it up to work, put it in an have been using it for a month or so now works excellent! no more being connected to a battery charger all the time like a rechargable drill.
