well even though I just replaced the plugs and wires like 30 miles ago.. I decided to get some resistor plugs (since I already have non resistor plugs in 2 different heat ranges) I have the carbon cored wires on the bike, so I got a set of solid copper core wires.. Sorry guys I thought I had the accell ones on there. But I will today. This problem was here but on a different cyl, along time ago. That was with the old solid core wires and what ever autolite plugs the motor came with. but I had the same symptoms and cure. it is more pronounced now but I guess that is because the carbs are finaly feeling the proper a/f mixture and the motor has a chance to operate correctly givimg me more of a chance to focus on this. before this bike ran bad, real bad. though I just did this. I am thinking I might wanna play around with the combinations of items that I have if you get any Ideas I am sure this will not fix my problem so shoot em my way.

I'm not sure about those resistor plugs, if they're the correct resistance. I'm not even sure what the correct resistance is for the plug caps that are supposed to go on the end of the copper core wires, and I don't have my manual handy...

My recommendation would be to put the copper wires on with proper NGK resistor caps on B8ES or B7ES plugs, whichever your bike calls for...

3 words.... wrong plug wires...now granted I used a 150 dollar set of my "trucks" racing wires... never even put em on the truck.. problem solved. least it seems to be.. I am going to go for a longer ride.. as i just went about half a mile down the street due to the fact i didnt have my lid or my shades.. But it ran great.. seems those carbon cored wires arent a good idea..even brand new

Took the bike for a 30 mile ride when I was on the highway about 80 (and it was rather hard to get there) I notice that any thing over 4000 rpms. i get alot of coughing from the bike. I decide at this point to exit the highway and see what happens cause up untill about 70 the bike just screams. As I am rolling to a stop I am looking down and smelling fuel. I notice at this point that I didnt tighten the fuel line clamp and the fuel line had come off. I am thinking that this was probably my problem. I have noticed that when my bike runs out of gas it does it slowly and starts popping and sputtering. I didnt get a chance to get it back onto the highway but I took it way over 4000 rpms on the side road with no problem. So yea I think it was just the plug wires. Thanks for burnin brain cells fer me brother

Okay, so that's 90 miles altogether? :P

No sweat, man, I'm glad I could help! I know tons of other people on this forum have helped me along, I'm only too happy to pay it forward.

Now, go take some pictures of your bike and post them here!

So, what wire/plug/cap combination did you end up with, and have you ridden it at highway speeds again?

Im not chargin. The bike dosent die so that tells me the alternator is good. but if i try to start it too many times or for too long with out unsing another power source the battery dies. I can normaly get through the weekend if I dont have to turn on the headlight. I just put a "new" motor in it. actualy george did. the bike charged fine before then. i have replaced the battery but it will only be good as long as it has juice in it. This is my next problem. Any way theres a pic of my bike its nothing much. I painted it with a rainbow metalflake in the clear coat wich gives the bike a gunmetal grey look. pretty awesome in the sunlight

Check the continuity of all the connections associated with your charging system. If those are all good, check the reg/rec. You have a manual, right?
