Another stretch but might inquire? Does anyone have an early Kokusan dated Z1 coil? They changed to Grey along the way, i'm needing the Black one for #1/4 plugs. Of course has to be a proven winner, primary and secondary windings and presentable. Looks like pic.

I have total respect for you "restoration" guys, I don't have the time or the patience to track down date, colour, production batch correct parts from around the world that will likely still need work to be useable

I may have one.  I'll check tomorrow.

I have several restored bikes along with a 2006 Goldwing with a sidecar. My wife has a 2019 Suzuki DR 650 for on and off road.

Excellent, a couple options!! Note the 1 and 4 coil will have the Yellow/red but a Black insulated lead instead of the Green ones shown. But You cats already knew that, ha. Wookie it ain't easy but after you've done this repetitively for years and have had soo many unmolested examples at ones disposal, you see patterns and subtle differences. And because I'm fortunate to of carted this stuff around for years makes it somewhat easier. I'm respectful of a seasoned Welder, which seems You are!! I can't weld a stich but i can solder like a banshee. Also envious of Professional Machinists and Painters!! But..being aware of my weaknesses i seek-out persons that accel at these trade sets. Restoration fellas can be pompous and arrogant but they don't/shouldn't have to be. Because once one gets to be a know-it-all and "think" they know-it-all that balloon of security can easily be popped, there's always something weird obscure that doesn't fit the mold. Just ask John Brookes, that's why he has several "revised-updated" versions of basically the same information. Ain't easy but can be challenging and as always..FUN.

Yup!  I threw out a tank, sidecovers, tail piece and seat from my Z1B back around 1977.  I had just bought new stuff painted black along with an LTD seat.  Wish I had those parts today.

Here is a photo of my one and only coil.
