i think i have the brn wire and ground switched around!
pwer/=brn goes to switch in reg, bottom terminal
green/=green goes to center terminal

I don't know what the order of the colors was, but there should be color rectangles on the unit which tell you which colors go where.
2 volts is not enough out of the rectifier. I would hold off on doing anything until someone with a 77 650 can determine the connections for you.

i found my problem!!
the person i got bike from said the old battery wouldnt hold a charge, and my new one went dead also!!
i saw that the color blocks on reg /cover were on opposite side of the three tabs!!
i switched the cover around put the wires on agian and presto! the brown wire went straight to ground!
i have rode all day and still at 12.5 volt on battery

Too bad I didn't ride to work today or I would have gone out and popped the sidecover and looked.
I'll check when I get home tonight.
I think the brown goes on top, but don't quote me on that until I get back to you!
