has anyone tried it? Or know which one is the right one for a 79 650 sr?
I like the thought of using a small speedo, and no tach(since my hearing is fine and I know how to shift) to show off my tomasselli bars and chrome bolts here and there.
Any thoughts?

I had that speedometer on a VN1500A (Vulcan standard) but used the 2:1 ratio. The 2260:60 doesn't sound right and I would contact Parts N More to confirm it will work for your bike and you could return it, if needed. The trip meter on the speedometer is especially useful for keeping track of mileage between fill ups... on my Vulcan, that was right at 100 miles and I was walking otherwise so the trip meter was a life saver. I would also check with JPCycles.com as they sell the same speedometer and their tech support folks are fairly knowledgeable... 2260 rpm at 60 mph doesn't seem right to me... I would guess a higher rpm at 60 mph and would guess the 2:1 would work but really am not sure. They also sell a matching mechanical tach that will work. The white faced speedo and tach look kind of nice to my eye...
