Headlight Replacement was created by Kris
Hello all, Newbie here--
I've got a 1983 K750. The headlight recently went out, and I'm having a difficult time getting the dang thing out! I can get the mounting screws out, but can't seem to get the trim bezel and light to pop out.
I can't really see in the bucket to tell what's holding it in, and am afraid to yank it (I've broken more than a few things this way).
Can anyone offer advice as to what I'm dealing with? The manual is no help to me.
Thanks, and great forum!

Hmmmmm....dunno bout yours, but mine (77 KZ1000A), when ya get the screws that mount to the bucket out, you must twist the trim ring (I forget which way)in the bucket while pulling it out. It CAN be a PITA, but thats how mine comes out.

I do not think that you will be able to turn it as it is square. You may have to pull out on the bottom and lift off of the top of the bucket. Not sure.

I'd say ditto on the pulling up from the bottom. Double check for any more screws, and then just see if it'll pop off. Depending on how long it's been since the last time it was removed, it may be a bit rusty in there... Might make it stick a little.

OK, it sounds like I just need to give it another go and not be so tender abou it. Should have mentioned that it's square in my original post (Thanks Creedmiller!)--sorry!
Thanks all, take care.
