Help! Headlight(s) cutting out... was created by Fossil
My sidestand warning light has been flashing on and off for the past while, but now it continues to flash and now my headlights are occassionally cutting out I'm thinking that the sidestand switch is the culprit. If I'm right, is there any quick fix I can do to get home in the morning with lights? If I just take out the switch, doesn't that cause ignition problems? Cut the wires and twist them together? Thanks to anyone with advice.

Took a break from work and went down to the garage and just started checking things over. No loose wires or connections, reconnected connecters I could reach in case of corrosion, but still, flashing warning light with sidestand up. Checked the fuses, pulled them out and reinserted them in case of corrosion - yep, fixed it. 30 amp circuit. Now I'll have to see if the lights still cut out - maybe the 2 problems were not connected, but I suspect they were.
....Got home and turns out it wasn't a bad fuse connection, the side stand switch was sticking.
