Hi all, newby Robin here. Have 82' KZ440LTD w 6,800 miles. The speedo and Tach's needled wobble above 55 mph. I mean the speedo will indicate a speed of 55-65 MPH back and forth like a metronome...same on the Tach...any easy fixes? Nature of the beast?
Thanks RV

My speedo is pretty steady, but my tach is jumpy.
I read a post once that said it may be caused by loss of cusion at the mounting bracket. There is a foam gasket that the clocks mount onto, and it goes away over time.
I haven't gotten around to replacing the gaskets, don't even know if you can buy them anymore. So I don't know for sure that this is the cause of my (and your) problem.

you can replace the foam. just get something not too hard thats 1/8 to 1/4 inch thick and make your own cutouts using the holder as a template. remeber to scrape the old stuff off. i found if you add washers to hold em tighter thats what causes this jumping problem....foams cheap try it...get the self adhesive stuff...i got it from mcmaster car....steve
