Rubber stator \"grommet\" sealer was created by BARNEYHYPHEN
What is the BEST sealant to use for sealing the large rubber grommet through which the stator wires pass, at the bottom of the stator cover?
Thought I saw WG suggesting Liquid electrical tape?
Any other suggestions? Thanks.

You can always use just good old black silicone sealer, it's cheap and easy to find. It does dissolve with gas and oil though.

Barney...I've had very good luck
1. clean the whole thing of any grease, leftover gasket sealant etc.
2. use 'HYLOMAR" to fillin crevases ,cracks and spaces (Hylomar shoud be available at any auto parts store in the gasket sealant section)
3. then use an rtv sealant on top of the hylomar.
Did mine 3 years ago just like this...no leaks yet!!

Maybe try some "seal all" I think its oil proof, and I know its gas proof, I "patched" the bottom of an old dirt bike tank with the stuff yrs ago, there were several rust holes in it 1/4 inch in diameter:laugh: , just make sure to clean up everything first, but you know that.
