Need help!!! I bought a 5in autometer tach with shift light at a swap meet can I hook it up to work on my kz1000 it has the wires for 6 or 4 cylinder ??? if any one knows how I could use all the help I can get. THANKS TANK :(

man this is making me think, havent used a autometer tach in a long time, I think it will work, but you need to make sure it is not for a mag, the only thing I remember, there is a hot, a ground, a feed from the tach side of a coil, to make it work on a duel coil, may have to trick it into thinking its on a 2 cyl, I would send a e mail to the factory, they may have a diagram on the unit

This is a good how-to for hooking up an electronic tach... both coils have to be involved I think.

That info doesn't seem right. He uses a Y adapter, but says it's not needed ? Then why use it? I don't think he knows why.
