Is the 3-phase stator you got going to work with your rotor?

A 3-phase stator should be able to swap directly into a 1-phase alternator from the 650/700/750 family. Many have reported success with this swap. It requires a 3-phase reg/rec, of course.
In fact, it may be a good idea for mppittman89 to look into it as he is running a Dyna S on his 78 650, or at least keep an eye on battery voltage, especially on long trips.

Thanks. I didn't know whether or not the earlier rotor could be used with the 3-phase stator.loudhvx wrote: A 3-phase stator should be able to swap directly into a 1-phase alternator from the 650/700/750 family. Many have reported success with this swap. It requires a 3-phase reg/rec, of course.

As for the voltage regulator, from some of your very helpful topics I know a reg-rec from various modern Kawasakis can be used.
EX250. EX500. VN500. and maybe some others that I'm unaware of.

If you are getting no spark at all, that is not likely due to the charging system. A battery alone would give you spark.mppittman89 wrote: Ya I'm actually at the point of buying a stators and 3 regulator bc I'm getting no spark. What year bikes can I grab a 3 phase stator and regulator off again? I have a 81 kz1000 if it's possible to steal them off that?
I don't think a 1000 will swap in. You need a stator from a 1980 or later 650 or 750-four. Before you buy it, make sure it has the correct outside diameter. To make sure it is 3-phase, make sure it has 18 "spokes" to it (not just 12). Reg/rec can be had from those bikes JMKZHI mentioned. But you will have to splice wires since the connectors might be different.
You may want to start another topic in the electrical forum for your ignition issues.

There are a few differences such as which coil is mounted on which side and the reg/rec is a single unit. some of the wire colors are different.i have a stock electronic ignition, could i just use the diagram for the dyna s for reference? Its an 82 kz750 n1.

Now, THIS is a nice looking bare bones ladder diagram. Clear, concise, and easy to read. loudvhx, OBVIOUSLY spent a lot of time making this personalized diagram. A true example of selfless dedication and helping others.
I couldn't make heads or tails out of the OP's diagrams, but I give this one TWO thumbs up! There really are some great people on kzr giving some awesome help. I'm stealing this one.

Be aware fuse 2 is more or less optional. It will help in the event of a battery reversal or a totally shorted rectifier, but most Kz's do not use a fuse in the Fuse 2 position (though some later ones do, but then even later ones seemed to abandon it once again).
Fuse 1 is essentially in the main fuse position.
I normally write the word "optional" near fuse 2.
And as another side note, there should never be a fuse between the junction of Fuse1/ Fuse2 and the battery. That can lead to a system meltdown.

Kick-only
Low-beam-only
Dyna S with Dyna coils.
There is a wire in the Dyna S loom designated for the oil pressure switch. You can ignore that wire. I'm not sure what color that wire would be with the Dyna S.
