As typical Kawasaki practice, they changed/refined the spark advance unit even in the first two or three years of production.
I'm SOOOOOOOO close to getting my engine together and running (except for cam degreeing, but that is another dilemma in my world altogether).
Yesterday I install my OEM ignition and my brand new spark advance mechanism and found out my ignition cover wouldn't quite go on all the way. Upon further investigation I realize that the spark advance is sticking out a bit too far.
I pull it and then realized that it is quite different than my worn out one. If I was a smart man, I would guess that my new unit is NOT for a Z1A.
Here is a pic of the bottom side of the new mechanism. Can someone identify this for me please?

On the KZ440/750 twin/650's the bike model is stamped on the front side of the advancer.
At least the ones I have seen were.
I take it your's isn't stamped?
