Testing A Rectifier/ Regulator combo unit was created by Wags
Hi All
I'm a newbie on the web site and was looking for some info on test the output voltage of a Rectifier/regulator combo unit. I purchased a aftermarket one from Z1 enterprizes and it work 3 months and now has failed. I have done all the somple test this weekend like generator output (62 volts at 4000 rpms. I also have a new battery and tested fine. Ohmed out yellow wires all 16.9 ohms three way all the same. Ohms the same to the white wire to the yellow wires also. When I start the bike and remove the white wire. I put my meter on the battery ground and the hot on the white wire I get 94vdc but no charge to the battery. I know this is not right as it wasn't like this 3 months ago. I beleive the unit is bad. Any concensious???
