bike:1982 kz1000m CSR
Bike wouldn't start last sat after long ride, jumped it to get home. got home and charged the battery, bike worked ok for a week. Today went to use it after sitting for two days and no luck. Battery dead again.
So, all the lights flip on, headlight is kinda dim. ignition just wont fire, after two or three tries I don't even hear a thing when I push the start button. I assume the bike is not charging when running but how can I test this. The manual wasnt too clear to me.
My first thought was a bad rectifier/regulator, but upon inspection, looking for frays, i found that on spark plug wire 3 the connection was crap. There was green build up of something where the boot and the wire meet/connect. Would that have anything to do with my problem.
I'm running out to get a voltmeter thingy to see how much juice I really have, in the meantime any suggestions on what could be wrong or comments on the weird green build up in my spark wire?
