Great of you too come back on here to keep on getting things sorted out, and so quickly, too. My hat's off to you. Show of good character. These guys are great at helping with whatever problem comes along. I've talked to Rob at Z1 a couple of times and I don't believe I've ever had things explained to me with such patience and clarity before. Give them a call. I'm sure they're anxious to help you get your bike going. Also, I'm sure you're not the first one to loose his cool and vent out of time. I b'lieve I've done that a couple of times before in my life.:whistle:

Per FSM ('76KZ900): 3.2 - 4.2 ohms primary resistance on oem coil.

Believing vast majority of 900 Dyna coil converts use green Dyna coils (not the black 5 ohm version), regardless of oem points vs Dyna S ignition.

Until this thread, never even considered or heard about possibly using black 5 ohm Dyna coil on 900 models, and am still perplexed about application of black 5 ohm Dyna coils on 900 models.

Am well pleased with the green coils on Z1 and KZ900.
green coils matched with Dyna solid core plug wires and Dyna-S ignition.

Am willing to learn, but don't understand why any 900 would need the 5 ohm black Dyna coil.
