Disconnected plug under the tank? was created by BARNEYHYPHEN
1976 kz 900. I seem to have a "spare" three prong plug on the end of a short (3-4") spur from the main loom, under the middle of the gas tank? Certainly doesn't look like an add-on by the PO, looks original to the loom. It's tucked in right beside the mistery "brake light failure" "black box" thingy.
There appears to be no corresponding "socket" for it to plug in to?
Any ideas as to what it's for? Thanks.

Sounds like a plug for the fuel gauge.
I don't know if they had those is 76. Is you wiring harness for a 76?

I THINK it's the original harness but certainly couldn't say for sure. Thanks for the thought though. Quite possible.
