TIMING ? on 750 conversion was created by lasvegasfnr
im purchasing a 79 kz650 from a friend. he changed out the motor to a 750. He says the timing is off and need to be adjusted thats why it wont start. it turns over fine. it is the electronic system, not the points. Can anyone help me out on how to set it?

It's really easy to set the ignition timing on a 750 four, you can't.
Just assume the friend doesn't know what's wrong and start from the basics.
Does if have enough compression (compression check)?
Does it have spark at the plugs?
Is it getting fuel (spark plugs wet).
Post the results of the above checks, then we'll have a starting point to diagnose the problem.
