dyna s trouble was created by udder
i have dyna coils and s ignition. went through it and static tested it and it was ok tdc on both 12 volt light light on. now my question is the pick ups i believe ( the replacement outter part for your points) how is that set? is the plate it mounts to supposed to have timing marks as well? bikes coughing and i have power loss. was checking these out and they were loose musta moved them a bit when tightening. could i test to see when the coils are starting to get voltage is that a good set point when its tdc? should i retard a bit ?

Read the instructions on page three carefully, the light should not turn on at TDC. You have the hold the rotor at full advance (clockwise) and adjust the plate so the light turns on point at the right hand advance mark. Then verify 2/3 (right hand pickup) matches.

It's an important detail that I didn't catch until I reread each step thoroughly.

:)

I just noticed you have a KZ1000. I don't know if there are differences between the two. If the Dyna instructions are different than what I wrote, ignore my ramblings.
