I read the archive post about upgrading the original equipment sealed beam light to the h4 halogin and I have a 7 inch bulb coming from jc whitney.

My question is the original harness has the three prong electrical connector for the sealed beam which will not fit the h4 bulb. Guys that have already performed the mod, what did you do? Did you cut a h4 connect off a car and cut off the 3 prong sealed beam connector and splice it together? Thanks in advance for your imput.

Believe you'll find your new H4 bulb has a three prong base that fits perfectly into the stock headlight wire socket. Do a Google image search on H4 bulb to see the three prongs. When installing, do not touch the bulb with bare fingers. Would also put a little dielectic grease on the prongs before inserting into the socket. Enjoy the light! :)

He's right, a straight fit. No need to change any wiring, at least I haven't in 20 years.
