Broken Throttle control assembly rt side was created by CHARLESRAD
The Kawasaki dealership ordered this item from the factory took my money, 3 days later they now say it is a discontinued part. I have 1 used assembly bought as of now off a 1981 kz1000 waiting for delivery got, it off E-Bay, The Kawasaki web site when I cross referance them says they are different, but the difference if any is in the factory plug I think I can re-wire the plug with some weatherproof connectors from autozone( I hate rigging stuff). If anyone has attempted this please let me know how it went I an confident this will work just waiting on my other 2nd assembly to get here I think it looks better of a 1982 kz looks like it is in excellent condition. I wanted to keep this bike all original, not going to happen now!!!
Bike: 1982 KZ 750 CSR TWIN M1
Black paint/ excellent condition/ any downsides lack of riding prior to my purchasing it.
6,000 miles original
picture coming soon

I have modified right hand switchgear to work on bikes they have not been designed for quite a few times.
First, what is wrong with the old switchgear. You say "broken"... does that mean the metal is cracked? Almost every part of the right hand switchgear comes out and can be replaced and in some cases repaired.
I like to replace the plug on the end of the switchgear anyway, since it seems to work loose easily when you put the tank on or take it off. Radio Shack has DC male/female plugs for this purpose and www.z1enterprises.com can get plugs that look very similar to the OEM originals.

The part that is broken is what the grip assembly rests on in the assembly. It broke while replaceing the grips the plastic was brittle. Althought it was not faded had weakened over the years

Are you talking about the throttle sleeve? It's like a plastic tube that the grip fits on and the throttle cables are attached to the end of it.
