Has anyone ever tried these cheap ebay gasket kits?
My tk22's look like they need a rebuild.
With everything else I've had to replace I'm trying to save where I can. But if they are a waste of time I'd rather not buy twice.
TIA

There are many posts on here warning against using "cheap" carb kits, the jets are poorly sized in many cases and the gaskets don't work as intended. You could get lucky or you could go out of your mind trying to get it to run right. Probably not an area to "cost cut"

And the brass parts rarely need replacing. A careful cleaning is all they generally need. The gaskets an orings do need replacing periodically, as they deteriorate with age.
Check the float valves carefully for wear or etching from corrosion. Carefully polishing the seats with a cotton swab and some brass cleaner can do wonders if they are not worn.

I'm seeing that kit for $27 on EB. It might be worth it for the gaskets and o-rings. but I don't know what's available for the TK22 carburetors.
In case you aren't aware the loudhvx motorcycle stuff page has a ton of info about the KZ550 & TK22s.
See links in the signature of any of his replies (unfortunately, lou is now deceased) .

Keyster is the only non-OEM carb parts supplier that I trust.
Realize of course, that "rebuilding" a set of carbs involves far more than opening the float bowls and installing a "kit." You need to ungang the carbs, soak them in carb dip, blow through all the passages to make sure they are open, then aseemble with new soft parts (gaskets and O-rings.) I'm not even sure if those Keyster kits have all the required O-rings. If not, order through a dealership source, assuming Kawasaki still sells the parts.
Also, read the link about fixing the choke flaps. The pin holding them often breaks loose and needs to be properly staked back. I supplement with some high strength epoxy.

Any recommendations for uk suppliers for a quality kit, or even just good quality gaskets and o rings?
I'm coming across lots of ebay keyster kits, but not sure they will be genuine.

Ed do you do an "O" ring set for these? (Ed is in the states but ships in an envelope, mine came in a week) you can probably get gaskets from Z-Power in the UK

I have O-ring kits for Mikuni BS/CV and VM carbs, as well as Keihin CV carbs, but nothing for TK22.
